Artist bio

Natalie Zawadzki (Nat Zawa) is a Canadian artist living in coastal Vancouver, BC (traditional unceded land of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations). Natalie’s art focuses on characterizing human connection to the environment, particularly in states of impermanence and fragility. Her iconic, fluid landscapes experiment with Suminagashi- a japanese marbling technique- to represent fleeting, temporal landscapes. Through this depiction, Natalie’s work reflects on the "bigness" of our Earth and the "shortness" our time on it.

Natalie's experience derives from a 12-year career in digital design, collaborating with local businesses and international brands. Her mural career began in 2019, through a commission at her local rock climbing gym, and has since grown to include the Vancouver Mural Festival, Squamish Art Walk, and various commissions.
